Template Designer – Social

Add and configure social media icons in the SHR CRM Template Designer, including platform links, icon styles, and Display Conditions.

Written by Fernando Fallabrino

The Social block adds a row of social media icons to your template, each linking to a social media profile or page. Icons are selected from a library of supported platforms and can be configured with individual URLs. The block appearance, including icon style, size, alignment, and spacing, is managed centrally for all icons in the block.

📌 Note: The Social block is configurable and may not be visible in your Designer if it has not been enabled for your CRM instance. Contact your SHR support team if you need this block enabled.

Before you start

Review the following before working with the Social block.

  • The Social block must be placed inside a column within a Columns row. It cannot be added directly to the canvas.

  • Each platform icon requires its own URL. Icons without a configured URL will not link anywhere when clicked by a recipient.

  • Only platforms with a configured URL should be included in the block. Remove any platform icons that your organisation does not use.

📌 Note: Display Conditions are also referred to as Dynamic Content. Refer to the Template Designer – Display Conditions article for full guidance.

Duplicate or delete a Social block

The inline block toolbar above the Social block provides two additional options.

  • The copy icon duplicates the block, creating an identical copy immediately below it.

  • The trash icon deletes the block from the template.

Additional information

The following covers additional information about the Social block.

Platform URL requirements

Each platform icon should have a configured URL. Icons without a URL will display in the template but will not link anywhere when a recipient clicks them. Only include platform icons for social profiles your organisation actively uses.

Individual icon styling

Icon Type, size, and spacing settings apply to all icons in the Social block equally. If you need different styles for different icons, use separate Social blocks for each group.

Adding the same platform multiple times

Clicking a platform icon in the grid adds it to the block. If your organisation uses multiple accounts on the same platform, you can add the same icon more than once and configure each with a different URL.

Icon count and mobile rendering

There is no set limit on the number of icons, but a large number of icons may affect how the block renders on mobile screens. Test your template before publishing.
